About
Luxembourg is the third largest EIB donor. Since 2004, the country has committed a total of €102 million to seven different EIB trust funds. Luxembourg provides financial support to the FEMIP Trust Fund (FTF), the EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-AITF) and the Economic Resilience Initiative Fund (ERIF). In 2017, Luxembourg and the EIB together launched the Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform (LCFP), a joint initiative aimed at financing high-impact climate action projects in developing regions. In 2019, Luxembourg initiated the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF), a new trust fund that seeks to enhance microfinance lending in developing countries. Most recently, the country became an initial contributor to the City Climate Finance Gap Fund initiative (GAP) and the EU for Ukraine Fund (EU4U).
