The EIB Group (European Investment Bank and European Investment Fund) is sponsoring the second European Microfinance Day organised by the European Microfinance Network and the Microfinance Center. This event aims to raise awareness on microfinance as a tool to fight social exclusion and unemployment in Europe.
The theme of this second edition, “Creating opportunities beyond microcredit”, highlights the importance of providing non-financial services alongside financial products.
As part of this event, the EIB Group will participate in the panel “Non-financial services from the Microfinance sector. A fundamental tool to cope with the refugee crisis”, together with representatives from the European Commission the UNHCR and the Council of Europe Development Bank, among others.
Besides the main central event to be held in Brussels, a multitude of workshops, debates, exhibitions and meetings will take place at local level all across the EU-28 on 20 October 2016, in collaboration with the members of both organising networks.
