    Deputy Minister for Development and Investments, Government of the Hellenic Republic

    • Oversaw the management and deployment of Greece’s Public Investment Programme (€7 billion annually) and of European Structural and Investment Funds (€22 billion).
    • Set up and deployed the Hellenic Development Bank, Greece’s national promotional bank, with €6 billion in assets under management.
    • Designed, structured and negotiated Greece’s programme for the allocation and use of EU structural funds totalling €26 billion (EU Multiannual Financial Framework, programming period 2021-2027).
    • Set up and deployed the Hellenic Development Bank for Investments, Greece’s national fund of funds, with €2 billion in assets under management, and which in turn developed and significantly expanded the private equity and venture capital ecosystem in Greece.
    • Assisted in the design and implementation of Greece’s plan for the deployment of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility.
    • Led ministry services of approximately 750 people and supervised a general secretary, two special secretaries and two directorates general.
    • Managed the relations of the Hellenic Republic with international financial institutions, including in a capacity as:
      • Alternate Governor at the World Bank Group (WBG).
      • Alternate Governor at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
      • Member of the Board of Directors at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB).

    • Head of Southeastern Europe and EU Neighbouring Countries Division (from October 2015):
      • Managed a team of investment professionals, responsible for the EIF mandate operations in South-Eastern Europe, EU Neighbouring Countries and Türkiye.
      • Set up loan, guarantee and equity financial instruments to support small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) access to finance.

    • GEEREF was a global equity fund of funds, domiciled in Luxembourg (SICAV-SIF), where primary investors were the government of Germany, the government of Norway, the European Commission, and several private investors.

    • The Luxembourg Future Fund was a €150 million fund of funds created by the Société Nationale de Crédit et d’Investissement of Luxembourg and the EIF, investing directly or indirectly in venture capital funds and SMEs to foster the sustainable development of Luxembourg’s strategic sectors.

    • The Green for Growth Fund was a €412 million created by the EIB and KfW under a layered risk/return structure investing in south-eastern Europe, the European Neighbourhood region, and the Middle East and North Africa through the provision of dedicated financing via cooperation with local banks.
