At the World Circular Economy Forum 2024, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission announced the upscaling of the Circular City Centre – C3. C3 is a competence and resource centre that supports cities in their transition to a circular economy – one where products and materials are used for as long as possible and waste is minimised. Following a 15-month pilot phase, C3 will now broaden its scope and continue until 2027 at least. C3 is funded under the InvestEU Advisory Hub mandate.
À l’occasion de l’édition 2024 du Forum mondial de l’économie circulaire, les plus grandes institutions et banques publiques de promotion économique de l’Union européenne – la Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK, Pologne), le groupe Caisse des Dépôts (CDC, France), dont Bpifrance, la banque publique d’investissement française, la Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP, Italie), l’Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO, Espagne) et la KfW (Allemagne) – et la Banque européenne d’investissement (BEI) annoncent ce jour avoir financé à hauteur de 11,57 milliards d’euros, à fin 2023, des projets relevant de l’économie circulaire, dépassant ainsi l’objectif initial qui s’élevait à 10 milliards d’euros. L'initiative accueille également un nouveau membre, Invest-NL, l’institution nationale de promotion économique des Pays-Bas créée en 2020.
During the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2024, Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) presented their Circular Economy Working Group’s emerging shared vision on the role of MDBs in supporting circular economy.
